Who Is It For?

People who have had headaches on 15 or more days a month for more than three months, with migraine features on a significant share of those days, benefit most from this treatment. Its effectiveness is more limited in people with infrequent attacks.

How It Differs from Cosmetic Treatment

Unlike treatments for wrinkles, the migraine treatment is performed according to a defined protocol in the forehead, temples, back of the head, neck and shoulder muscles. The total dose is higher and the effect is aimed at reducing pain transmission. Injections in the forehead may also soften lines as a side benefit.

When Is the Benefit Felt?

Although some patients feel a difference after the first treatment, effectiveness is usually assessed after the second or third treatment. It is therefore recommended to continue for at least two or three cycles.

Side Effects

Temporary neck pain, a feeling of weakness in the neck, tenderness at the injection points and, rarely, a drooping brow may occur. It is not performed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

A Surgeon’s View

Migraine treatment is not limited to a single method. This treatment works best together with neurology follow-up, a regular sleep routine and avoiding triggers.
