Eyelid or Brow?

If you feel your eyelids have become heavy when you look in the mirror, gently lift your eyebrows with your fingers. If the appearance improves noticeably, a significant part of the problem may be a drooping brow. This distinction is the first step in choosing the right treatment.

Target Brow Shape

In women, an elegant and fresh look is achieved when the inner end of the brow is at the level of the brow bone and the outer end is slightly higher and gently arched. In men, a flatter brow at the level of the bone looks more natural. Because over-raised brows create a surprised expression, restraint is essential.

Methods

Muscle-relaxant injection: Relaxing the muscles that pull the brow down lifts the tail of the brow by a few millimeters. Effective for a few months.

Lifting with dissolvable threads: The brow is suspended upward with barbed threads placed under the skin. It is done under local anesthesia, recovery is short and the effect lasts one to two years.

Surgical brow lift: Through small incisions within the scalp, the forehead and brow tissues are released and secured higher. It gives the most lasting result for significant drooping.

Risks

Temporary numbness, mild asymmetry and, with threads, small dimples may occur. These usually resolve on their own or with minor corrections.
